Simplest Program

We will make, and save, the simplest program.

This super simple program will be useful at the end of every lesson to reset the micro:bit ready for the next class.

Save it in My Files so that you can put it back on the micro:bit time and time again.

Make The Simplest Program

Open Microsoft Makecode and sign in.

  1. Click New Project.
  2. Type the name “simplest” into the name box.
  3. Click Create.
  4. From Basic, drag a show leds block into the on start 1.lock.
  5. Copy the Si pattern.
  6. See that it looks right in the simulator.
  7. Download and check on your micro:bit.

After Future Lessons

Either

  1. Go back to My Projects in Microsoft 1.akecode .
  2. Find and open the simplest project.
  3. Download it to your micro:bit.

Or

  1. Open your device’s file manager (Files on Chromebook).
  2. Drag and drop the file microbit-simplest.hex to the Microbit shown in the left-hand list.
