Wiring the micro:bit

To control the light box from outside, we need to connect wires to the micro:bit.

Cut The Wire

You need 3 pieces of wire, each approximately 30cm long.

Strip The Insulation

Twist The Ends

We need two different twists on the end of each wire.

1. One end just twisted up straight.
2. The other end split into two twists.

Single Twist End

Double Twist End

Wire Up Pins 0, 1 and GND

Now we can wire up the micro:bit.

1. Using the double twist ends, put one of the twists through the pin hole.
2. Wrap the two ends under the golden contact tab where the pin name is written.
3. Twist the two ends together to make a tight connection.
4. Put the tail through the pin hole again to neaten things up.
